Although the weather felt more like a warm summer day, Arlington's Kids Fall Fest returned to Arlington Saturday, October 7, 2 pm -- 3:30 pm, for the fifth straight year, The festival featured old time fall games, fun and treats.
When the kids weren’t gobbling down popcorn, they were bobbing for apples, participating in sack races, taking train rides, having their faces painted, running through the pumpkin patch, or working on crafts. And, much to their parents’ delight, many were tangling with the yummy but sticky cotton candy! Whew, it was a whirlwind of activity with the kids keeping the Arlington staffers busy - but it was enormously gratifying to see those little, innocent smiling faces and to hear their gleeful laughter.
Arlington’s purpose is to “Be the model for creating experiences where life is celebrated.” Of course, as a cemetery we’re in the business of remembering, celebrating and memorializing lives. But how much better can we celebrate life than through the laughter of children?
